Ouzoud Waterfalls are located near the Grand Atlas village of Tanaghmeilte, in the province of Azilal, 150 km northeast of Marrakech, in Morocco. Ouzoud means "the act of grinding grain" in Berber.
Leaving Marrakech at 7.00 AM we travel towards Ouarzazat, driving 200 km through the Atlas Mountains where you will see beautiful landscapes and many authentic Berber villages. Our first big stop will be in ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah’ a 16th century fortified village and a UNESCO world heritage site. Many big movies have been shot there, (Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, and Prince of Persia…). We visit the fortress before travelling on to Ouarzazat, the capital city of cinema in Africa, where we stop for lunch. After lunch we go for a visit to the studios of Cinema and then we drive back to Marrakech we arrive to your hotel around 19: 00 pm.
his trip starts from Marrakech and Crossing the mountains and the valley of roses and many kasbahs
and black desert,red dunes ,and the blue waters of the highly improbable dayt serji, where shimmering flights of pinks flamingos take to the air ,we finally arrive in Rissani,the town that cradled the Alaouite dynasty.
stop and meditate a while at the mausoleum of moulay ali cherif ,dynasty's founder .
the town used to be a major stop off for camel caravans,and much trading activity still goes on there today,thanks to it's great souk.filali leather is known for it quality ;soft and supple ,it is manufactured from goatskins tanned with tamarisk bark.
further on, tarred roads give way to tracks,and the dunes of merzouga appear in the distance .red sand stretching as far as the eye can see,and an ever-changing landscape, blown by the winds and scorched by the sun 's rays .This is Erg chebbi,a vast ensembel of dunes reaching up to 160 meters in height .watching the sun rise or set over them is a truly unique experience .trekking,bivouacking and expeditions on camelback are all on the agenda here,bearing you away to explore the sahara of morocco and its timeless mystery.
Day 1:
Depart Marrakech at 7:00 am. We will make a short stop at approximately 8:30 am for breakfast at the beginning of the Atlas Mountains in Tadart Village.
After breakfast, we will head toward the city of Ourzazate by driving through the Atlas Mountains.
We will stop in Ourzazate to visit the famous Aït ben Haddou Kasbah, which is currently on the
UNESCO World Heritage protection list. Many famous movies have been filmed here,
including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Sodom and Gomorrah (1962),
Time
Bandits (1981), The Jewel of the Nile (1985), The Mummy (1999),
Gladiator (2000), and Alexander (2004).
After visiting Aït ben Haddou, we will stop for lunch in Ourzazate city. Finally, we will drive to Dades Gorge where we will spend the first night at the hotel.
Day 2:
After the breakfast, we will drive to Todgha city to explore Todra Gorge, and then go to Tinjdad village where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch, we will pass through the towns of Arfoud and Rissani in the direction of Merzouga, home of Erg Chebbi, the tallest sand dunes in Morocco. We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon/early evening, where you will have some time to relax by the swimming pool and have berber tea. Around 5:30pm, we will ride the camels from the hotel for about one hour and a half through the desert dunes. We will arrive at the berber tents, have some time to relax, drink
berber tea with nomads at the camp, and go over to the dunes to watch the sunset.
Dinner will be at the camp, followed by music around the campfire.Overnight in the berber tent.
Day 3:
We will wake up at dawn to catch the sunrise in the desert and then head back to the hotel. You will have the option to ride the camel back or ride in the 4x4 vehicle. We will have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will drive to Agdez Village to stay the night at the hotel.
Day 4:
We depart from Agdez Village at 8:00 am. We will drive to Tafraoute city, passing through various towns such as Taznakht, Foum ZzgEid Tissant, and Tata.
Day 5: Explore Tafraoute City and drive back to Marrakech.
